Description

American Sugar Refinery complex, Arabi, Louisiana (Note: in Arabi, a short distance outside of the city of New Orleans, not in New Orleans itself as the printed caption states.) Air view from postcard. Docks and ships along Mississippi River front visible.

Caption on back:
"American Sugar Refinery, near the famous Chalmette battlefield, just below New Orleans, is the largest single unit sugar refinery in the world and employes over 2000 workers."
Date Not dated. Photograph must date between 1912, when the Refinery was completed, and 1923, when the Ford plant building (not yet here) was constructed at location at bottom left of card.
