Fair use rationale text: This image, Dyer's column at Gusht.jpg is being linked here. Although this image is subject to copyright I, rueben lys, feel it is covered by US copyright laws because it is a historic image of the East Persia Cordon which cant be reproduced. The image is of a force that is discussed in considerable detail in the articles Niedermayer–Hentig Expedition and East-Persia Cordon, and is relevant to it to illustrate the British efforts directed against this expedition as well as the impact the expedition had on political situation in South Asia, as will be judged by from the article text. Further, the image itself is most probably taken by a member of British or British Indian Armed forces in 1916. Therefore it is arguable that the copyright of the original image has in fact expired and this fair use may be replaced by a {{PD-BritishGov}} license since it is a photograph created by the United Kingdom Government and taken prior to 1 June 1957. I therefore believe this image is in fair use. Author:Unknown. Source: The Butcher of Amritsar: General Reginald Dyer By Nigel Collett. p112.
