• It is being used in a section about the painting and other works of art created in response to the Palestinian exodus.
• The artist was himself expelled from Lydda in 1948, so his artwork is especially significant as a primary historical source.
• There is no free equivalent.
• The use of the painting serves to enhance the reader's understanding of the impact of the event on the people who were involved in it.
