English: The colossus of pharaoh Rameses II, Middle Kingdom. A giant statue of the pharaoh Rameses II carved of monumental limestone is about 10 metres in length. It was discovered in 1820 near the southern gate of the temple of Ptah. Memphis, Ancient Egypt.
