English: An exact plan of Mount Moriah - al-Ḥaram ash-Šarīf, the Temple Mount. Includes detailed index. Manuscript by Pierotti, who served as Jerusalem town engineer.

Some labels:

  • South of al-Aqsa (Old al-Aqsa) is here believed to be « ruines de l'ancienne abside de la mosquée » (“the mosque's old apse's ruins”).
  • There are two places labelled « mosquée d’Omar » here. It was a European nickname for the Dome of the Rock. The Musalla of Omar is still translated as such.
  • Present-day al-Aqsa Library: « mosquée d’Abou-Bekr (ancienne salle d’armes des Templiers) » (“Abu Bakr's mosque (former Templar armory)”).
  • Present Islamic Museum: « Mosquée des Mogrebins » (“Mosque of the Maghrebis”) & « minaret » (al-Fakhriyya Minaret)
  • Southwest of the compound: the « Kakouret (Ḥâkoûret) el-Khatouniyé (Jardin potager [de la noble]) » = Ḥākūrat al-Khātūniyya (Garden of the Noblewoman) (حاكورة الخاتونيـة). A ḥākūra is a cultivated estate or vegetable garden. Aka Arḍ al-Khātūniyya (أَرْض الخاتونيـة). Now replaced by a square in the Jerusalem Archaeological Park.
