Summary

Description
English: Mamluk mausoleum, Safed, Israel. The main inscription engraved in stone mentions the name of a Mamluk official buried there: Musa ibn Aruqtay al-Qipchaqi. Al-Qipchaqi, refers to the Steppe origins of the Mamluks,many of whom hailed from the Kipchak Turkic tribes of present-day Ukraine and Russia.
