Proposed additions to Whitelist (sites to unblock)

parkguell.net84.net

I want to put this website in:

Article of Park Güell in English wikipedia, and Article of Parque Güell in Spanish wiki.

I think that this website is interesting because there aren't any website of this park in internet, all are about Gaudí, and this website is all about it. (My real user is Malet in the catalan wiki)--RobCatalà (talk) 09:19, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

In the bot page Mike.lifeguard, has say that it should be in the withelist, and I can not put the link, I don't know if I should wait, or there is a problem. The page is

He suggested whitelisting if admins here thought it was useful. I don't (not much info, as noted on meta; advertising. no Declined OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:10, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, I added information, and erase the advertising. And then proposed to Ohnoitsjamie. But he said to me only a minute after (no time to look the website: I'm still not interested in adding it. It's self-published, and thus does not meet WP:Reliable sources guidlines, not to mention the conflict of interest that has already been mentioned.. So I only demonstrate that is a personal thing, I don't know if it’s licit to decide for Wikipedia. If it is I can't say nothing.--RobCatalà (talk) 15:52, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Rob, again, "He suggested whitelisting if admins here thought it was useful." Apparently OhnoItsjamie does not find it useful. I suggest you find an appropriate WikiProject (see Wikipedia:WikiProject, or via the banner on the talkpage of pages the link could be added to), and ask there if the editors there think the link can add something to the page (you may want to have a look at the external links guideline for some more information). Until then also I  Clerk declined this request. --Dirk Beetstra T C 16:04, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

marrakech.net

Hello, We would like to have our domain marrakech.net whitelisted so we can be able to list it on your useful links for all the visitors of the city of Marrakech. We have built this website and still developing it so that it can help all the travelers find what they are looking for, from hotels, restaurants, maps .... I hope that this domain was not confused by a similar one but with a misspelling (letter s instead of c): marrakesh.net which is an adult site. Also I don't know what sort of spamming our domain was blacklisted for, if there is any spamming problem with our website and you have found something wrong, please give us the reason why it was black listed, it could be because last month our site was attacked and someone introduced some kind of script that generated some external links to other websites but we have cleaned it recently. Thank you for your time and consideration. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.251.188.67 (talk) 02:46, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

  • no Declined. Wikipedia is not the place to promote your site. Guy (Help!) 23:13, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Suite101.com

Attempting to add a reference to the Cockatiel page regarding the bird's docile nature. The article is based at Suite101.com, here: ://pet-birds.suite101.com/article.cfm/cockatiel_care (add http to beginning of link). The article cites it own references at the bottom of the page, written by a professional author. It states that the article is not to be reprinted without the permission of the author, Michael McGrath. The information at our own Cockatiel article was not written by McGrath, and because we are simply referencing a common fact stated by a professional source, and have not used any of McGrath's actual material, this does not constitute plagiarism. • no Declined. Unreliable source (self-published and therefore not peer-reviewed), long-terms problems with abuse of that domain. I am sure there are other, much better sources for the same information. Has the author written a book, perhaps? You could cite that instead. Guy (Help!) 14:34, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
