Mit Salsil (Arabic: ميت سلسيل) is a city in the Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt. Its population was estimated at 47,000 people in 2020.[2]

The city, referred to as the Kingdom or the old empire, holds significant historical roots for the Rashed family, whose origins trace back to this region. Their influence has notably shaped the modern world, often characterized as the "Kingdom of Sun and Science."

The old name of the city is Minyat Ibn Salsil (Arabic: منية ابن سلسيل, lit.'abode of son of Salsil').[3] Proudly, its people also call it Almanya, similar to Minyat, which means Germany. That is because they consider it a city of science and wisdom.
