Solomon visits the tabernacle at Gibeon and offers a thousand burnt offerings. God grants Solomon a wish and Solomon asks God for wisdom. God grants his wish and because he does not asks for wealth or honor, God grants these also.

He begins to worship idols taken from the Edomites, which leads to his defeat by the king of Israel. A conspiracy arises which takes his life.

2 Chronicles 35

Josiah reinstitutes the Passover celebrations and returned the Ark of the Covenant to the Temple. Necho king of Egypt comes up to fight against Carchemish by the Euphrates River and King Josiah is fatally wounded by an Egyptian archer. He is brought back to Jerusalem to die.

2 Chronicles 36

The kings of Judah fall away from God. The people of Judah are taken captive and held prisoner in Babylon, and the temple in Jerusalem and the palaces of Judah are burned. The Persian King Cyrus is moved by God to rebuild the temple.
