Israel Daylight Time[edit]

I assume it is UTC+3; but assumptions are not for Wiki articles. Does anyone know for sure? Joffeloff 20:49, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yup. Whenever I call my family in Israel they're 7 hours ahead of me, as I live in Toronto and it is UTC-5 it adds up correctly. Xineoph 1:00, 19 June 2006 (TC)

Er... ?

Daylight savings time[edit]

"Israeli daylight saving time period ends earlier in autumn, the Israeli time is identical to Central European Time for between 2 and 7 weeks during these months"

Shouldn't that be Central European SUMMER Time? During the daylight savings time Israeli time is UTC+3 (same as EEST), but since it changes back to UTC+2 before the summer time in Europe ends, it matches CEST (UTC+2) for a couple of weeks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.233.238.222 (talk) 10:55, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merger[edit]

Some editors did a really good job with these articles, especially Drork and Epson291 (cheers!). However, it appears that maybe they'll stay at their current state forever, somewhere between stub- and start-quality, due to insufficient length. I suggest merging them to have much more potential into something like Time in Israel, or whatever the name convention says on timezones. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 09:10, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would advise against merging it to "Time in Israel" since IST/IDT are their own time zones. It would seem the practice has been to give individual time zones their own pages. Things like Time in the United States work better when there are muliple time zones within a state and/or shared by mulitple countries (which I'll point out all have their own pages in addition, i.e., EST, CST, MST, and PST). For instance:
In that case, how about merging the other article (summer time) into this one? I haven't gone through every article you posted, but the ones I did didn't have a separate daylight savings time or summer time article. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 09:51, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The time zones in the surrounding areas all have seperate articles, see below:

I suppose they could be merged, but I don't necessarily see the benefit. - Epson291 (talk) 00:28, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm removing the merge notice since it is no longer being discussed and it's been quite some time. - Epson291 (talk) 06:08, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Respite[edit]

I re-added the merge suggestion, now relevant to two different articles—this and Time in Israel, which I suggested creating last time. I currently have no opinion about the proper title, but the articles discuss the exact same topic and should definitely be merged. —Ynhockey (Talk) 20:25, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
