J.J. (newspaper) – better 76.120.162.73 (talk) 20:19, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. The name of the publication, as the article properly reflects, is "j.". That is also the name by which it is commonly known. The suggested move does not make sense -- the suggested replacement is simply not its name. Nor its common name. As such, wikipedia guidelines (which we follow - rather than sentiment) indicate that the current name is the appropriate name. !votes that follow guidelines are the ones given weight in matters such as these. However, I've created a redirect to this page from "J. (newspaper)", in the event that may help. --Epeefleche (talk) 20:44, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, better Jweekly In ictu oculi (talk) 22:50, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support, J. is a newspaper. The companion website is jweekly.com. I suspect that the that the assertion that "j., also known as Jweekly," is original research and have added a {{cn}} tag. The website logo is written:
"j.weekly"
an in text change will also be needed: "{{DISPLAYTITLE:''j.''}}" to "{{DISPLAYTITLE:''j.'' (newspaper)}}"

They are used in the alternative, as can be seen here. Epeefleche (talk) 18:32, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the current title should redirect to the disambiguaiton page for "J" J (disambiguation). "J." grammatically refers to all abbreviations that are just "J" -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 10:44, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:CONCISE, WP:SMALLDETAILS, etc. Red Slash 14:27, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • Common English grammar would disagree with you. "J." is any abbreviation that is reduced to the letter J ; therefore, it is not this paper. -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 04:56, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That is ridiculous, see J (disambiguation) In ictu oculi (talk) 21:42, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. Do a ctrl-f search for "j." on the disambiguation page. You find two nicknames and this article. Dohn joe (talk) 21:47, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - "J." common refers to any abbreviation of a word beginning with J. Therefore it is a plausible target for any of the titles at the page J (disambiguation), and should be a redirect there. People wanting this article can easily enough locate it from that disambig page.  — Amakuru (talk) 08:40, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support precision via disambiguation. 73.222.28.191 (talk) 04:09, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:SMALLDETAILS. A hat note will serve any confused readers.--Cúchullain t/c 21:31, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as the the initial should be redirected to the disambiguation, as many things can have a J. abbreviation.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 22:26, 16 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
