2000 Amendment to the Jerusalem Law invalidates this article's claims[edit]

This article leans very heavily on the claims of Ian Lustick in 1997 to the effect that Israel never really annexed Jerusalem. Notwithstanding the fact that Lustick's claims are controversial and contradict the plain meaning of the relevant laws from 1967 and 1980, they are clearly contradicted by the 2000 amendment to the 1980 law, stating the following: "The jurisdiction of Jerusalem includes, as pertaining to this basic law, among others, all of the area that is described in the appendix of the proclamation expanding the borders of municipal Jerusalem beginning the 20th of Sivan 5727 (June 28, 1967), as was given according to the Cities' Ordinance." To argue that this does not constitute annexation is to simply twist the facts. Jacob D (talk) 09:31, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Jacob D[reply]
