City of the Holy Spirit[edit]

There is an ancient Church tradition which ties Jerusalem to the city of the Holy Spirit. In part, this is because there are legends about the foundations of Jerusalem and the role of Holy Spirit in the book of Genesis. It would be interesting if we could examine the ancient founders of Jerusalem and look at how early Christians went from a literal Jerusalem to an ecclesiastical Jerusalem. Be careful. Not all Christians went to an "ecclesiastical Jerusalem" and the process certainly didn't occur in Early Christianity, rather it occured after the rise of Islam and the failure of the Crusades. 75.15.199.206 (talk) 16:37, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Some of the topic is already discussed at Preterism. 75.15.199.206 (talk) 20:45, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Luke 13:34[edit]

When Jesus states "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you" what prophets do scholars believe that he is referring to, other than himself presumably? What figures match this description of being stoned in Jerusalem?24.189.108.166 (talk) 17:15, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
