move to Malha[edit]

articl:"Manahat (Hebrew מנחת), better known as Malha (מלחה)," in the field nobody use "Manahat" and in hebrew wiki the name is Malha (מלחה).--Avin15 20:27, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree.--Gilabrand 20:30, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Manahat and Malha[edit]

There is not proof of any connection between biblical "Manahat" ("Manahath" in the first Book of Chronicles Cap. 8 verse 6.) and Malha. Probabbly it is a link made by Israeli governmental names committee due to nearness of the sound of the names.--Avin15 (talk) 13:28, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'm not sure it's true though. Manahat is also mentioned in a translation to Book of Joshua if I understand correctly, and it says here that Manahat was already mentioned - presumably the connection between the places was already made by Jacob de Haas, although it's not entirely clear because the quote says Malha.[1] Amoruso (talk) 14:40, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Through War or Act of Terrorism?[edit]

Let's be honest - War or Terrorism? Because the wording that explains the Irgun's actions seem to be justified on this page - that they rightfully claimed Malha through war. Let's be clear - the Irgun attacked villages through terror by attacking and killing many innocent Palestinian families as part of its ethnic cleansing to claim land - Deir Yassin massacre. In conclusion, this page is very much biased towards Israelis especially with this quote, "but 17 Irgun fighters were killed and many wounded," how many innocent Palestinian families did they kill to start this battle in the first place, over 100-200. Are you suggesting that the 100-200 casualties from the Deir Yassin massacre be added to this article? I don't think it makes sense to combine the two topics. Israelgale (talk) 16:44, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What about the Georgians from the past?[edit]

Georgian peasants were settled here under the auspices of the nearby Holy Cross Monastery. After adopting Islam, they turned against the monastery requesting property rights to the lands they had been tending for a long time.

Very interesting history. Who has the right sources handy? Thanks! Arminden (talk) 15:26, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is Malha "considered an upscale neighborhood"?[edit]

The article currently states that "Malcha is now considered an upscale neighborhood". I have been living in Jerusalem for 2 years, and my impression is that the residential areas in the Malcha area are somewhat depressed and run-down. Unless someone has a source for this statement, I suggest it be removed. Israelgale (talk) 16:42, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
