Blacklisted Links Found on Qadas[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected links on Qadas which have been added to the blacklist, either globally or locally. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed or are highly inappropriate for Wikipedia. The addition will be logged at one of these locations: local or global If you believe the specific link should be exempt from the blacklist, you may request that it is white-listed. Alternatively, you may request that the link is removed from or altered on the blacklist locally or globally. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. Please do not remove the tag until the issue is resolved. You may set the invisible parameter to "true" whilst requests to white-list are being processed. Should you require any help with this process, please ask at the help desk.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

External links modified[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 3 external links on Qadas. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).

Merger of Qadas and Kedesh[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
To merge the two articles given the historical continuity on the same or similar sites; direction determined by page view analysis (hence, least surprising in English). Klbrain (talk) 18:53, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See quotation below, proving that Qadas = Tel Kedesh. This is also confirmed by the coordinates of the Palestinian town vs the site of Tel Kedesh on google maps. The quotation below shows that the site had continuous inhabitation through the ages. A merger would allow us to tell all this history in one place.

  • "The Hebrew University Expedition to Qedesh in the Galilee". Archaeological Institute of America. 2021-11-21. Tel Qedesh is one of the largest biblical mounds in northern Israel. First settled as early as the Chalcolithic period, the site reached its peak during the Early Bronze Age, when an enormous site (ca. 60 hectares), extending well beyond the main mound, emerged during this crucial phase of early Levantine urbanism. A Canaanite city continued to thrive on the mound during the second millennium BCE, to be followed by an important Israelite center during the Iron Age II, known as one of the Refuge and Levite Cities (Joshua 20:7; 21:32). Following its conquest by the Assyrian King Tiglath Pileser III in 732 BCE (2 Kings 15:29), it re-emerged as a Phoenician administrative center during the Persian and Hellenistic periods, and later as an important pagan town on the boundary between Tyre and Jewish Galilee during the Second Temple period (BJ 3:35-40). A rural cultic center, housing two temples and numerous mausolea (elaborate burial monuments), developed here in the Late Roman period, and an important market town is attested during the Early Islamic period. In the more recent past, the mound was occupied by a small Shi'ite village by the name of Qadas…

Support: Yep, appears by all accounts to be the same place. Same location, same name. Iskandar323 (talk) 11:48, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support: agree that they're the same place and that the content overlaps. That raises the question of the target. As Qandas isn't currently an occupied place (as I understand), and most of the Qadas article is a summary of the Kedesh article suggesting that this is the primary topic. Pageview analysis shows, over the last year, an average of 21 daily visits for Kedesh, and 8 for Qadas, suggesting that Kedesh should be the target. Klbrain (talk) 10:30, 20 September 2023‎
