Bilingual names[edit]

I deleted Hungarian alternative names because (i will use Biruitorul arguments about this particular template[1])

1. Hungarian is not an official language anywhere in Romania. In 20%+ towns, it has some attributes of an official language, like signage and educational rights, but it's not official.

2. Precedent isn't binding on Wikipedia, but it can be illustrative. Is there a comparable template that provides two names? If you look, for instance, at the template for Vojvodina, which has six official languages, only Serbian names are given, with other names provided in individual articles.

3. Hungarian names are just a click away, in the articles themselves.

4. If Hungarian users want to see Hungarian names there is a Hungarian Wikipedia. A template should not hold unnecessary and irrelevant information for the English Wikipedia, such as Hungarian names for places that are found only in Romania. Hungarian names are not relevant in this context and therefore should not be used.

5. Per WP:PLACE.

I hope that it will be understood this time since it was edited in violation with wiki naming policy and the above mentioned. Thank you.iadrian (talk) 02:51, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bilingual names statistics[edit]

See the traffic statistics for hungarian articles. Even if they are redirected, the traffic analysis shows a relevant use of them. If we subtract that number from one of the redirected page, we get the Hungarian names are in many cases more known and used as the Romanian one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aakmaros (talkcontribs) 13:23, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Use of the official names not minority ones are presented in templates. If someone is interested in Hungarian nameplaces they can easily see them on the article. For further explanation see the section above.iadrian (talk) 19:46, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
