Proposed split[edit]

I am proposing a split between this template and Template:Medical specialities. Template:Medicine should provide a high-quality broad overview of the extremely broad area of medicine. Instead it is currently a placeholder for medical specialties plus a minor amount of additional links. LT90001 (talk) 22:02, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ophthalmology should fall under surgical subspecialties. Eye surgery is not considered a field of medicine. Ophthalmology is and it is considered a surgical subspecialty. Please see

Not done. Eye surgery is already under the "surgery" category. Correct me if I'm wrong, but ophthalmology seems to include non-surgery practice as well.  Ganbaruby! (Say hi!) 06:53, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest that the Medical Toxicology speciality be added in the "Other" section of this template (with the given link). Kraemer (talk) 23:40, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. Please post a notification at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine to indicate your proposal. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 23:48, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
