Notice[edit]

Vodafone Live is not 3's only 3G rival, O2 Ireland have been providing 3G services for over 1 year using their O2 Active and exclusive iMode brand - where content is available free of charge.

Its also worth stating that O2's 3G service does not support video calling for a number of reasons:

1: No demand for service

2: Other operators lost a lot of money providing this service which is rarely used

3: The real benefits of 3G are not video calling but excellent calling services and faster internet speeds

083?[edit]

I realise that it is definetly the code for 3, but why is 083 it's code? What about 084, was it skipped for a reason, or did 3 request 083, cause I think it's worth mentioning. - Gerbon689 15:08, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Theres no order, they requested 083 simply because there name is 3, such as how they launched in the UK on the 3/3/03, also digiweb mobile are taking 088 and tesco mobile are taking 084 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mitchell-16 (talkcontribs) 18:56, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tesco Mobile in Ireland are actually taking the code 089. --  RÓNÁN   "Caint / Talk"  22:12, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Customer Service[edit]

Yea I agree, its customer service stinks !! Worst than anything I have ever came across (even worst than NTL)

This is probably due in part to their teething status as a new operator. Also, at present 3 Ireland has its Network Operations Center located in the UK (together with 3-UK's) and not in Ireland. This is outsourced and run by Ericsson (UK) and their staff rather than 3's Staff. Because there is an outside company running the network and this is seperate from customer care, this could cause issues. --  RÓNÁN   "Caint / Talk"  21:07, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
