Shouldn't this use Template:UK-ROI TV channel infobox? Thelb4 22:07, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Launch[edit]

This page, which has BBC Choice's opening day schedule, appears to claim that it was actually not broadcast at all for its first week, because Sky Digital didn't launch until 1 October 1998. Is this true? Was it broadcast any other way initially? This was before the days of Freeview with its free-to-air BBC channels, and indeed ONdigital wasn't even on air until 15 November. Were there any digital cable providers carrying BBC Choice in its first week? If not, it seems bizarre that they didn't just postpone the launch due to circumstances beyond their control, as with BBC2's power cut. Did they really sit there at the BBC playing let's-pretend-we're-running-a-TV-station when all the cables might as well have been unplugged? 12:47, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

It was certainly available to very few people in the first week, probably only a handful of people who had access to Sky's test transmissions and people actually inside TV Centre. The thinking was that since this was brand new, they'd iron out any problems in that week. -88.109.92.36 13:42, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Meh[edit]

One not very good citation. A tone of voice more suited to Transdiffusion than Wikipedia. All useful information buried under a torrent of crappy opinions. Well done all concerned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BBC Choice correction (talkcontribs) 17:44, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
