Francophone contributor wanting to create an article about " Community of Communes Beaucaire Terre d'Argence".[edit]

Hello,

I'd like to create an article about the Community of Communes Beaucaire Terre d'Argence(whose city of Beaucaire is a member) .And probably some other local French authorities.

Actually, I wanted to make a translation from the francophone wiki to the anglophone one, but I can't as I'm restricted user, because I'm not an experienced editor on that Wikipedia ( what I understand: rules are rules ! ).

Can someone help me out with that ? For example I could write a paste copy of the article translated into English, rephrased by myself, and an anglophone contributor could check it out ? Or a complete new article ? But it will take me more time.

Is this right?[edit]

I think the history here is muddled, or at least so incomplete as to be misdirection: "During the Albigensian Crusade, Raymond VI of Toulouse besieged Beaucaire in May 1216. The efforts of Simon de Montfort to relieve the town were repulsed. The city fell after a three-month siege."

Someone who knows more should provide some references, but I believe it was Raymond VII who besieged Beaucaire in 1216. But he was taking the city back after it was taken from his father, Raymond VI. Simultaneously, Raymond VI was working the political strings to have the property returned. Simon de Montfort was the one who had taken the city, so to say he was trying to relieve it seems a bit off, though it may not be factually incorrect, depending on who you think should be called the owner of the city: the traditional holders, or the guy who just took it from them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.197.33.253 (talk) 07:32, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it was the son, not the father who reclaimed the city after the Raymond VI was excommunicated and lost his holdings. Raymond VI was still in Marseille working the political angle at the time.
I don't understand how exactly the castle was transferred to the King, but it's not clear to me that Simon de Monfort ever took Beaucaire. In fact, many sources say that he never did and emphasize that this was his first defeat (after sacking Beziérs, Carcassonne and other towns), though I don't know what their reference(s) is/are for this statement.
