In the absence of substantial information about Djamila Bouhired, perhaps this entry should look toward fact-based portrayals of this figure in multimedia or novels, such as Youssef Chahine's 1958 film "Jamila, the Algerian," interviews with her and her husband Jacques Verges (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPFuaUNW4_4 ; http://chnm.gmu.edu/wwh/modules/lesson9/lesson9.php?s=12), and other primary sources that detail historical accounts of her significance and experience.
