Gibralter is at SEA LEVEL! ;-)

This is a pretty random assortment collection of cities; while it is mostly capitals, there are some random ones thrown in there (Calgary, Edmonton, and Denver for instance). Also, none of the cities are linked to their individual articles, which would presumably have the sources there. This list should either be revised to be more consistent, or deleted altogether. If no one objects/has any opinion, I'll go ahead and do it myself in a few weeks. Reade (talk) 20:13, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Agreed. If you want a list of low-lying cities, you would think you'd include places like Miami, New Orleans or Venice. Nerfer (talk) 20:46, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

The geocoordinates are not correct. 2 out of 5 cities in Canada are reportedly in the Eastern hemisphere(!). Geira (talk) 11:08, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

What is "notional elevation"?

From the article: "While the elevation of cities may vary enormously, this list should represent a notional elevation for each city which is verifiable and reasonably acceptable". How do you determine the "reasonably acceptable" notional elevation for a city? For instance, Singapore is listed at 0 meters. Yes, it has docks and a harbor on the sea, but most of the city is described as at 15 meters, according to Geography of Singapore. Merge/rename

There is a template on the article suggesting this be merged with List of highest large cities. However, many of the cities here are low elevation, and there is no list of lowest large cities, so maybe it should be renamed and entries re-assigned as needed? Nerfer (talk) 21:04, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

List of cities by elevation → List of lowest large cities Would be natural counterpart to the existing article List of highest large cities. High-elevation cities in this list would be moved to the other article. As it is, this is failing the original purpose of elevations for all large cities. • Comment - I think it's more useful to have this list than a list of "lowest cities". "Lowest large" also sounds odd, just "lowest cities" would be better. But yes these lists are a bit strange and incomplete. – Thjarkur (talk) 19:05, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
