Ariel and Beit Yatir[edit]

I was accused of POV pushing when I deleted these two names from the list. I disagree. Here are the facts:

  • The scope of the article, as described in the heading is: "a list of places in Israel having standing links to local communities in other countries".
  • Ariel is described here on Wikipedia as "a city in the central West Bank".
  • Beit Yatir is described here on Wikipedia as "a religious Orthodox moshav and Israeli settlement in the southern Hebron Hills of the West Bank".
  • The West Bank is not internationally recognized as being "in Israel". Furthermore, as far as I know, even the Israeli government does not consider the West Bank a part of Israel (with the exception of the East Jerusalem area). The article here on Wikipedia states: "The West Bank was taken control of by Israel, during the Six-Day War in June, 1967. With the exception of East Jerusalem and the former Israeli - Jordanian no man's land, the West Bank was not annexed by Israel."

The conclusion, clearly, is that Ariel and Beit Yatir are not in Israel.

If you want this article to inclued Ariel and Beit Yatir, you must change the title of it to List of twin towns and sister cities in Israel and Israeli settlements on the West Bank or something similar. With the current article title, including Ariel and Beit Yatir is factually wrong.--Barend (talk) 11:30, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The problem has been solved, similarly to the solution for the related featured list. —Ynhockey (Talk) 16:28, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

UK flag??[edit]

I don't know what the precedent is for this, but it seems kind of odd to have the England/Scotland/Wales flag instead of the UK flag. Does anyone know why it is this way?? Adam Bernstein (talk) 12:52, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Change Xinjiang (שינג'יאנג) to Yiyang (אי יאנג) for Petach Tikva sister cities. The Petach Tikva municipality's website has the right spelling for Yiyang but the wrong link. e.g. official source on the relationship between the cities https://www.mfa.gov.cn/ce/ceil/eng/sgxw/t915867.htm Thanks Vokabre (talk) 00:38, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

OK, corrected. Thank you. FromCzech (talk) 04:41, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
