Disco Demolition Night?[edit]

Would it be appropriate to link to Disco Demolition Night in the ‘see also’ section? It was a promoted burning of media that some have claimed was rooted in homophobia and racism that resulted in a riot. Victor Grigas (talk) 23:28, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm inclined to think no as the scope and seriousness of the topics are very different. The Disco Demolition Night article does have a quote comparing the event to Nazi book burning though.Citing (talk) 16:05, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've edited this a little. I'm not sure that citing your own essay is a sufficient source, although you have also mentioned the newspapers concerned. Response in the US[edit]

I've set the above mentioned section within a couple of more generic headers. The US response is documented in various places, this link to the Holocaust Museum web site is a good starting point, though it jumps about in time, and focuses on Jewish and anti-Nazi reactions.

It would be good to get a wider viewpoint, including the rest of the world. It would also be good to see the matrix for the 1933 burnings, I.E. how does this compare to other countries and other times. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 13:24, 9 April 2024 (UTC).[reply]
