Father of ...[edit]

He is regarded as the "father of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation".

Is there a reference for this. AFAIK this honor should be shared with Dr James Elam, who also worked on the development of Resusci Anne. See also http://depts.washington.edu/learncpr/book.html http://www.asahq.org/Newsletters/1999/09_99/elam0999.html etc -- Egil 08:43, 28 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I re-worded it to be more ambiguous. The proper explanation is given in the section below. AndyBQ 19:56, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First ICU in US[edit]

There appears to be a counter-claim in the Intensive care unit WP article that the first application of this idea in the United States was in 1955 by Dr. William Mosenthal, a surgeon at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. However, I can readily see that it depends on how ICU is exactly defined- clustering/grouping of what exact selection criteria etc. I am staying out of the final decision.
