Conservation Status[edit]

The Portuguese-language version of this article states that this species is classified as "EN", whereas in the English-language article, it's "LC" (least concern). There's a discrepancy between these two articles on whether or not this species is endangered. Skyduster (talk) 21:05, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It would seem that the English article is correct with regards to the current conservation status of the Toco Toucan, at least as far as the IUCN Red List is concerned. I've added a reference. --Kurt Shaped Box (talk) 21:20, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

style[edit]

well any article with words like "call for more info!" and "can you believe that!" needs some adjusting.Tourskin 00:09, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Range picture contradicts text[edit]

The text says Toucans can be found in Southern Brazil and Rio de Janeiro, but the picture excludes those regions. I know by simple personal experience that toucans can be found in other regions, so I think the error is in the picture, not the text. -- 201.81.120.235 (talk) 23:17, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunate that the misleading map remained for this long, but I've removed it now. The issue in RJ and Southern Brazil was only one of several; perhaps 50% was correct, while the rest was problematic (other map problems: not in most of Amazon, most of Guiana Shield, Caatinga region; but is present in much of N. Bolivia, NE Argentina, etc). 62.107.223.94 (talk) 15:54, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
