Yanuh of the Bible?

According to Palmer, 1881, p. 38, the South Lebanese place Yanuh, see Yanouh (disambiguation), could be the Bible -place. OR, according to Palmer, 1881, p. 60, ..it could be this place. Huldra (talk) 22:45, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Nissim Dana writes that it was this one. We'll just have to attribute unless we determine that most sources (preferably contemporary ones) believe this Yanuh is the one of the Bible. --Al Ameer son (talk) 04:43, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

Ok, I have not looked much into the "modern" period, but the sentence: "In August 1948, during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, a number of Druze villages in the western Galilee were within the Israeli sphere of control" seriously needs context. According to this map, Yanuh-Jat was clearly in the area which was meant for the Arab state. That should be noted, especially as the village was punished for years for being perceived as having betrayed ......the Jewish state. <facepalm> Cheers, Huldra (talk) 18:36, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

Conclusion: So far we have no idea as to what source(s) SWP, 1881, p. 155 based their 1250CE info on. Ellenblum-sources use name "Yanot" in 1220CE-source. For "Lanahie", Ellenblum say see: Evron, Israel..which I cannot see. ( Noted: Evron, Israel is not in Khalidi). Suggestion: it seems as if modern scholarship (=Ellenblum, have not found it in any of the Pringle-books) place Lanahie at Evron, Israel, and not at Yanuh-Jat. Suggest that we either modify, or simply remove SWP-ref, and replace it with the Ellenblum, p 147-ref (including the underlying Strehlke and Röhricht links).
