Mahishasura Mardini is said to be the Hindu goddess Durga. He had liberated the gods from this by killing a demon named Mahishasura. Mahamaya mother Jagadambika had given a boon to the gods that she would appear in the worst times and destroy the demons. Even though the mother is constant, she appears again and again. For the slaying of Mahishasura, due to the expansion of her pastimes, the mother had put an end to the evil Mahishasura by appearing with the glory of all the gods and goddesses. After Mahishasura, many more demons were born on the earth like Chand Munda, Dhumralochan, Shumbh Nishumbha, to kill all of them, the mother took the form of Kaushiki Devi and killed the wicked on the Himalayan mountain, hence she is also called NishumbhaShumbhahanni. Mother created Kali Devi from her forehead. Who killed Chand Munda, due to which he came to be known as Chamunda. After all this, a son of Ruru was born in the Hiranyaksha dynasty, whose name was Durgamasur, whose sins caused a famine of 100 years on the earth. Then all the gods came together in the Shivalik hills of the Himalaya Mountains and did severe penance for Mother Jagdamba. Being pleased, the mother assumed a wonderful form and saw the world with a hundred eyes, due to which the name of the mother became famous. These Shatakshi Devi produced vegetables and vegetables from her body and nurtured all the living beings. Since then her name Shakambhari Devi became famous. Then the goddess asked the gods, now what favor should I do on you. Then all the gods requested that we should get the four Vedas stolen by the insurmountable. Then the goddess fought fiercely and killed the inaccessible demon, due to which Shakambhari Devi became famous as Durga Devi. After this, to protect the ascetics on the Himalayan mountain, the mother took a terrible form and became famous as Bhima Devi. When Arunasura terrorized the three people, Mother took the form of innumerable illusions and killed that demon. Then in this form the goddess came to be called Bhramari Devi.
