George...[edit]

Nope, I didn't start the Hezbollah article. I also haven't reviewed the changes you made, or how they were modified in any detail by other users. I'm only saying that Wikipedia policy requires that we be civil and refrain from personal attacks. You should feel free to openly discuss any issues you like with the article on the talk page, edit it in ways you see fit, and talk with other users on their talk pages, but when it comes to discussing controversial issues we must remain civil, or discussions quickly break down into useless bickering and name-calling. If after discussing the issue fully, you can't come to an agreement, Wikipedia policy has a process to resolve disputes. Cheers. — George Saliba [talk] 01:42, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it's impossible to ensure that you don't get reverted. However, if you're hoping to improve an article, try to keep your edits neutral, accurate, and attributable. The third is especially key. Cite references from reliable sources that support your edits, and you're golden. — George Saliba [talk] 07:24, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

adoption!

Ahmadhusseini! I'm Sa.vakilian, one of the adopter of Wikipedia. I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! If you want to be a good Wikipedian, I can help you with wikipedia rules and styles.

If you'd like to be adopted by me, put this tag in your User page and if not, remove it from your talk page and pray for me. {{Adoptee|Sa.vakilian}} ← Sa.vakilian(t-c)--07:25, 11 April 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Some advices[edit]

Thanks for your good effort to improve Hezbollah article.

There are some moral codes to have constructive participations:

  1. Please be polite and cool. (Lotfan moaddab va khunsard baash.)
  2. Please don't blame other wikipedians.
  3. Please try to have good relationship with other wikipedians even who have completely different viewpoint.
  4. Please let others tell their ideas and do their edits.
  5. Please assume good faiths.

Finally you can ask all of your questions about that article and its participants since July 2006. --Sa.vakilian(t-c) 08:03, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know what you mean, but you shouldn't speak harsh with good editors like George.Saliba. He really doesn't want to push a POV in the article.--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 02:52, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some technical advices[edit]

  1. Try to write Edit summary every time even when you put comment in a user's talk page.
  2. Try to use show preview to correct your mistakes before saving the edition. Be careful! Whatever would be saved couldn't be removed from the history.

--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 18:52, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption process[edit]

Salam. When you accept to be adopted by me I put 1 tag on your user page and check your editions as well as answer to your questions. You can find more about it in Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 04:20, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Al-Manar[edit]

Salam. This article is nominated as a good article. I reviewed it and wrote my idea in Talk:Al-Manar#Good enough?. We've improved it since 2 weeks ago. Now we should work on the structure. Please write your idea about mu suggestion in Talk:Al-Manar#Rearrangement--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 04:51, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It depends on the issue. Please discuss before editing,if it is controversial. Otherwise be bold.--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 06:08, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Memri[edit]

Salam.

Guys, since you claim that MEMRi is a reliable source I used some of their stuff about Naturei Karta in Beirut. Under the Position on Jews section. Hope the additions I made are relevant, I believe they are... Ahmadhusseini 19:18, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

No insist that we should check the original source in Arabic or Persian. MEMRI just translate something and it doesn't responsible for the content.--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 06:40, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding edits made during April 17 2007 (UTC) to Nicolas Cage[edit]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Renrenren 21:07, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I apologize for marking you as a vandal. I was on RC patrol and reverted what I thought was a change that was done by you, but further digging indicated that you yourself had attempted to revert to a previous version but that version also contained vandalism. Sorry about the confusion. --Renrenren 21:16, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Archive index[edit]

Salam. Kayfa anta ya akhi?

I found that we repeated our former discussions in Hezbollah. Please make an archive index by using User:HBC Archive Indexerbot. Jazakallah Khayr.--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 15:09, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can find several webpages of former discussions about each article, if you look at the top of tha talk page e.g. Talk:Hezbollah:

Chronological Archive:

  1. May 2003 - June 2006
  2. July 2006 – July 2006
  3. Inactive as of August 7, 2006
  4. Inactive as of August 12, 2006
  5. Inactive as of August 20, 2006
  6. Inactive as of August 31, 2006
  7. Inactive as of September 30, 2006
  8. Inactive as of October 30, 2006
  9. Inactive as of December 30, 2006
 10. Inactive as of March 15, 2007

Topical archive:

  1. POV-Disputed-Controvercial discussions
  2. Terrorist allegations
  3. structure
  4. Lead/Introduction discussions

These are archives of former debates about Hezbollah article. Most of the issues which newcomers discuss about are be found there. Now I want to make an Index for Chronological Archive to prevent frequent discussions about one issue. Can you refer to User:HBC Archive Indexerbot and try to use it or its owner to help us with this issue. You can consider it as a drill to become more familiar with wikipedia .--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 18:19, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article doesn't have archive index like what you can find in talk:Ali. We've made just 4 topical archives for the most important issues.--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 02:35, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I mean we should have something like this:
   * POV
   * Al-Ali
   * Ali being a scholar
   * Alis thought of Umar and Abu Bakr
   * Ali first to convert?
   * Born in Kaaba
   * Imamat Ali
   * Inheritance
   * Obligatory to love Ali
   * Old quotes
   * Pictures
   * Quotes
   * Quran Compiled by Ali
   * Raids
   * Rafidis
   * Sayyed
   * Titles
   * Was Muhammad an imam?
   * Western quotes

--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 19:08, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please check that robot and if it doesn't do this work please do it manually. This article was extremely controversial six months ago and you can learn numerous things about policies and dispute resolution strategies through this drill.--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 19:15, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your edit. I'll check it as soon as possible. Thanks.--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 02:45, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You misunderstood. I didn't say I want "a chronological archive", but I said I wanted an index for our chronological archives. Please check it to find what you should have done. God bless you.--Sa.vakilian(t-c) 03:33, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Mr. Husseini,

I hope you're doing well. Kourosh Ziabari is an award-winning Iranian, Muslim journalist and media correspondent. A few anti-Iran Wikipedia users have proposed the deletion of his entry, under the excuse that he is not notable enough to have a Wikipedia entry; however, the real reason is his opposition to the policies of Israel and the U.S. foreign policy. I wanted to ask you to come and contribute to the deletion nomination page and support this Muslim journalist and help him save his Wikipedia entry.

Thank you very much. --ZahraKazemi (talk) 16:51, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request for support[edit]

Asalamalikum Dear Wikipedian,
I'm Hooperag, a fellow Wikipedian of yours and a fellow Muslim of yours. In this email I would like to ask for your support in my efforts to bring proper respect to Prophet Muhammad and the religion of Islam in Wikipedia articles.

Recently I have been working on articles about religious figures of Islam like Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.), and Imam Hussain ibn Ali (a.s.), in these articles have added appropriate terms for their respect like changing "Muhammad" to "Prophet Muhammad" and such... As in Islam we are obliged to mention these people’s names with respect, this must also reflect in text.

Unfortunately, however some Wikipedia editors are undoing all these efforts with the claim that such honorary prefixes are biased and violating of Wikipedia’s neutrality. This however could not be farther from the truth.

There are 1.6 billion Muslims on this planet, over 23% of the world’s total population. Tens of thousands of Wikipedia editors are Muslims and hundreds of thousands of Wikipedia readers are Muslims. With so many Muslims how can we let our beloved prophet and his companions be disrespected on the world’s largest encyclopedia?

Wikipedia claims they maintain such a policy to support freedom of speech and fight censorship. However I say that this gives no right for disrespect towards 1.6 billion humans’ prophet and religion. If we are to let things continue like this we will only find our religion and prophet further disrespected on Wikipedia in the coming times.

Things don’t need to be this way. I request your support as a fellow Muslim to voice your support for the usage of respectful terminology regarding the religion of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on Wikipedia.

Please visit the following link: [Link] and visit the section titled “Request for Respect of our Religion and our Prophet”. Once you are there comment and voice your support!

Please pass this message to as many Wikipedians as you know!

WaalaikumSalam

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:01, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
