Merging General Jewish Labour Bund in Romania[edit]

I suggest that this article be moved to the main General Jewish Labour Bund article. It should not be combined with the existing Romainia sub-section under the History section of the article. It should have a new section because because the existing sub-section is during the Interwar Period. Quite frankly, it makes no sense whatsoever to not merge this article into the existing one. I was about to raise a discussion, but in the opposite direction, at the talk page of the General Jewish Labour Bund article or the task force talk page. I distinction should be made between the original party and parties formed in other countries with inspiration from the Russian party. Following the end of WWI, the main Bund appears to have been divided along the new national borders (although the Russian party ceased to function soon thereafter). The Polish Bund (the main Bundist force) was renamed 'General Jewish Labour Bund in Poland'. Clearly the Romanian and Polish Bunds were separate parties, demonstrated by the fact that the Galician sections of ZPS joined the Polish Bund in 1920, whilst the Bukovina Bundistn didn't. The International Jewish Labour Bund ought to have a separate article from General Jewish Labour Bund in Poland, as they were two separate entities (and the Polish Bund actually withdrew from the IJLB in 1948). The question is; was there any form of international authority or coordination between different Bundist movements during the interbellum? As per the Romanian section in the GJLB article, I'd rather suggest trimming the passage. --Soman (talk) 21:39, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You bring up amazing factual points. Most of which, even a Bundist might not know (I certainly didn't). Although there is definite distinction between all these groups, in the end they are all the same thing. If they did break off, it is to minor a incident in Bundist history to have a separate article and confuse people. I still think that it should be merged. I think its important to be accurate about organizations and their lineage. The history of many political movements in Central and Eastern Europe are tumultous due to the changes in context of revolutions and wars in the first half of the 20th century. There are similar problems with the articles on Poalei Zion. If the Bund in Poland and the Bund in Romania were two different political parties, with no common leadership, then they should have two different articles. It's not more strange than having separate articles for SPD and SPÖ. --Soman (talk) 21:53, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
