Marriage[edit]

The statement that Bibo and Juana Valle were married twice because no rabbi was available does not make sense. In Jewish law, any adult male Jew may perform a marriage. A rabbi is not necessary. If any of Bibo's brothers were available, he could have performed the marriage. This bit calls for clarification. Perhaps there was no adult male Jew available, or perhaps the ceremony before the Justice of the Peace was necessary because New Mexico did not recognize Jewish marriages unless performed by a rabbi?Bill (talk) 04:16, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
